Organizational Design

Organization design is the method of reshaping the structure and roles of an organization effectively in order to align with the mission statement. It is one way of integrating people, information as well as technology in order to achieve the required goals. It is fundamental to reshape or design an organization to create competence in a specific market. The aim of reshaping an organization is to match its structure as closely as possible to the function for which it exists. When designing organization, internal and external factors are taken into consideration. This is because they are the ones that affect organizational performance. Hence, organization can be reshaped in terms of size, structure and processes that are defined in phases. These phases may be defined in terms of behavior, function, product or category and geographical location of an organization.

My organization is designed using models that identify the meaning and shared understanding of the organization. These models pull together the major organizational dimensions in order to make them accessible and usable. It employed the 7-S model that enabled the organization to be managed and operated successfully. Cichocki and Irwin (2011) argue that organizations that employ the 7-S models enables them to achieve the stated objectives and fulfill the mission of the organization. In addition, my organization integrates people, information as well as technology in order to achieve the stated goals. For instance, in my organization, managers work together with employees to define the organizational needs. Therefore, they create a system and employ the organization models through which those needs are effectively met. The managers ensure that a systematic process is followed, and they encourage creativity within the organization.
