Prepare a plan for personal growth that will strengthen
your knowledge, skills, and dispositions as a teacher. Use the notes
from the Dispositions Survey for ILP1 to assist you with this process.
The activities in your growth plan should be specific, measurable,
attainable, realistic, timely, and tangible. Such activities might
include participating in collegial support groups, professional
development, mentoring, student centered programs, education research,
and other actions designed for growth.
Include specific references to the Learning Resources including media
and at least one outside source, as well as your own professional
experiences to support your thinking.
Compose a 5-6 page paper that includes the following three parts:
Part 1: Professional Dispositions
Using your notes from the Dispositions Survey for ILP1, indicate your
areas of strengths and areas for improvements. If you are already
proficient in an area, provide specific examples from your teaching
practice and include an action plan for continuing growth in that area.
For areas needing improvement, write at least one SMART goal that
indicates specific actions you will take to improve and include a
monitoring plan for improvement in that area. Suggested length for the
Professional Dispositions section: 1-2 pages in paragraph form.
References used should be cited appropriately using APA style.
Part 2: NBPTS Core Propositions
Using your notes from the NBPTS Core Propositions self-assessment
indicate your areas of strengths and areas for improvements. If you are
already proficient in an area, provide specific examples from your
teaching practice and include an action plan for continuing growth in
that area. For areas needing improvement, write at least one SMART goal
that indicates specific actions you will take to improve and include a
monitoring plan for improvement in that area. Suggested length for the

indicate your areas of strengths and areas for improvements. If you are
