Writer’s Choice

Considering Jean Kilbourne’s article, “Two Ways a Woman Can Get Hurt,” write an essay in which you agree or disagree with either her thesis (make sure your paper has a clear thesis statement) and support it with examples (at least three) from advertising (print or electronic) for ONE PARTICULAR TYPE OF PRODUCT (beer, perfume, cigarettes, cars, etc.). When presenting the examples, be sure to do the following:

Describe the ad or commercial in detail, including written copy. If you can include a scanned in copy of the ad, feel free to use that.
Discuss the ways in which each ad supports Kilbourne’s thesis.
Discuss the negative effects each ad might have on consumers or society.
