As we have discussed several times in class this term, this report is for you or for a future manager at the company where you will work. What you are doing is choosing a company or an industry, or just researching generally how social media can be used in sales management or management in general (depending on your career interest) to promote your company’s products and services. In your paper, you will want to take about the target market you’re trying to reach, then develop a creative strategy using social media to generate sales. In today’s marketing environment, companies are using social media more than traditional media like television, radio, or print media to develop their strategies. Few companies are likely to be successful in the future unless they have a marketing strategy that uses social media.
As a young person, you probably know more about social media than your future boss will know, and he or she will probably turn to you for advice on how to make better use of social media to reach customers. If you write a good report, you can also use it to help you get a job by differentiating yourself from other candidates during interviews with potential employers. You are welcome to write about the innovative, strategic use of social media in any business area or, if you like, even non-business areas like politics where you see the presidential candidates using twitter and other social media daily to reach and try to persuade potential voters.
